Product detailed description
| Battlefield role | Unique features | Difficulty | Player tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stealth infiltration & mission control (Kill Team) – ambushes, disruption, and objective play | A mix of stealth movement, tech tools and support drones + a beacon for “smart” positioning | Medium (shooting is straightforward, but it rewards planning, cover and tempo) | Play patiently: score from cover in the early turns, punish exposed targets, and don’t let the opponent force you into an unnecessary brawl. |
Kill Team: XV26 Stealth Battlesuits
An elite infiltration kill team for T’au Empire players: silent moves, accurate firepower, and smart objective plays. Perfect if you want to win on points and nerves – your opponent often realizes where the shot came from when it’s already too late.

About the unit & what’s in the box
This set contains a complete miniature team for Kill Team – the core is made up of stealth battlesuits, supported by drones and a special beacon. You get a small, elite force that excels at infiltration missions, objective control, and surgically removing key targets. The models are plastic, unassembled and unpainted (classic GW).

Where it fits and how it plays
In Kill Team, this is a team for players who want control over the game’s tempo: stay safe, score steadily, and choose exactly when to “step out of the shadows”. In practice it often wins by forcing uncomfortable decisions – either the opponent risks a run for objectives or falls behind on points.
Main benefits (why it works)
- Stealth and cover = you survive longer than the opponent expects, giving you more time to score.
- Drones and the beacon give you a “toolbox” – space control, support, and smart mission tricks.
- Great for learning Kill Team: fewer models on the table, but lots of meaningful tactical decisions.
Matchups (what you’re up against)
- T’au Empire (XV26): shooting, mobility, objective control, and playing for the “surprise moment”.
- Aggressive melee teams: they want to force close combat and rip objectives away through pressure.
- Summary: avoid a fair fistfight – keep distance, play for tempo, and make the opponent pay for every step into open ground.

Recommended paints and tools (quick start)
Fast beginner baseline: primer + a few paints for base, shading, and details. We’ll keep it simple.
Primer (recommended)
Citadel Colour Spray: Grey Seer
Use: A versatile light primer – great for clean light schemes, quick contrasts, and crisp details.
Core paints (minimum for “battle ready”)
Apothecary White
Type: Contrast / shade
Use: Fast shading for light surfaces (over Grey Seer) – instantly defines panels and recesses.
Leadbelcher
Type: Base (Metallic)
Use: Weapons, mechanical details, vents, and tech parts.
Nuln Oil
Type: Shade
Use: Quick depth for metals and panel lines – a “pro look” in minutes.
White Scar
Type: Layer
Use: Simple edge highlights on helmets and armour edges for a clean sci-fi finish.
Astrogranite
Type: Texture
Use: Easy “stone” base – apply, drybrush, done.
Recommended tools (optional)
Citadel Plastic Glue
Use: The cleanest plastic bond – it “welds” parts, holds strong, and is easy to work with.
Artificer Layer Brush (Small)
Use: A versatile brush for basecoats + details (helmets, panels, weapons).
On-table tactics (quick and practical)
| Key element | How it works |
|---|---|
| Cover & “tempo” play | It’s not about winning the firefight immediately – it’s about scoring safely and forcing the opponent to take risks. |
| Pick-off targets | Shoot what’s exposed: operatives out of cover, objective runners, units that switched to Engage too early. |
| Drones as tools | Treat them as utility: add angles, hold points, and make the opponent answer multiple threats at once. |
| Beacon & positioning tricks | Plan ahead: set up the point where you want pressure, then flip the turn in your favour at the right moment. |
Beginner FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do I need to glue and paint it? | Yes – the miniatures are plastic, unassembled and unpainted. We recommend plastic glue and a few basic paints. |
| Is it beginner-friendly? | Yes, if you enjoy tactics: you have relatively few models, but the team rewards smart decisions and good use of cover. |
| Do I need anything else? | To play you’ll need the Kill Team Core rules and standard gaming accessories (dice, a measuring tool, tokens/markers). |
| Can I use it in Warhammer 40,000 too? | Yes – the miniatures can also be fielded as part of a T’au Empire army in Warhammer 40,000. |
How to continue (and what to add)
| What next? | Why |
|---|---|
| Kill Team: Core Book + Approved Ops / missions | More missions = more fun and better balance. You’ll quickly see how the Stealth team “comes alive” on objectives. |
| T’au additions for 40k (e.g., more infantry / support) | If you get into Warhammer 40,000 as well, this Stealth team is a great start and expands easily into a larger army. |
Where next (recommended follow-ups)
| Follow-up | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Want more “stealth” missions? | Add thematic missions/campaign play and run scenarios where tempo and cover matter more than raw power. |
| Want heavier firepower? | Build into loadouts that punish mistakes – and play so you never have to fight fair. |
| Want community play? | Kill Team is perfect for leagues and game nights – fast matches, clear missions, and a great skill ceiling. |
