The Grand Alliance: Death brings together factions that serve Nagash—the Great Necromancer and god of death. His goal is to reshape the Mortal Realms into a necrotopia—a world without emotion, free will, or life, where everything is subject to his will.
The armies of death include the Ossiarch Bonereapers, Nighthaunt, Soulblight Gravelords, Flesh-eater Courts, and the Legions of Nagash. They are skeletons, ghosts, vampires, and crazed ghouls who have risen from their graves to destroy the living and establish the order of the dead.
Death is not chaotic—it is a force of order that seeks to replace the variability of life with the unchanging structure of death. Nagash rules from Nagashizzar, a citadel in the heart of the realm of Shyish, from where his Mortarchs wage war against all that is living. Every fallen one can become a soldier—and in the army of death, there is no escape.
