Blood Angels
– Sons of Sanguinius, the bloody elegance, Ninth Legion
The Blood Angels were the Ninth Legion of the Legiones Astartes, led by the noble and tragic Primarch Sanguinius. They hail from the planet Baal, whose radioactive wastelands shaped their resilience. Sanguinius was an angelic warrior, beloved by the Emperor and his brothers, known for his beauty, strength, and the gift of flight.
During the Horus Heresy, the Blood Angels were drawn into the Battle of Signus Prime, where they faced the daemons of the Ruinstorm and the treachery of the Word Bearers. Horus knew of their genetic flaw – the Red Thirst – and sought to exploit it. In the end, Sanguinius fell in battle with Horus aboard the Vengeful Spirit, becoming a martyr of the Imperium.
The Blood Angels are renowned for their swift assaults, elite strike units, and tragic nobility. Units such as the Crimson Paladins, Angels' Tears, and Dawnbreaker Cohort combine deadly efficiency with aesthetic grace. In the Horus Heresy system, they have access to unique rules for lightning-fast strikes and psychological warfare.
