Dark Angels were the First Legion of the Space Marines, created during the Unification of Terra. During the Horus Heresy, they were technologically advanced, independent and relentless – masters of strategy who could conduct large-scale campaigns without aid from other Legions.

Their structure included the Hexagrammaton – six “wings” specializing in different aspects of warfare: Stormwing, Dreadwing, Ironwing, Ravenwing, Deathwing and Firewing. Each had its own doctrine, units, and unique combat role.

The Dark Angels were led by Lion El’Jonson, their Primarch, renowned for his honor, tactical brilliance, and mysterious nature. During the Heresy, the Legion became divided – some turned traitor, leading to the Hunt for the Fallen, which continues even into the 41st millennium. In the Heresy system, they field unique units such as the Interemptor Squad, Knights Cenobium, and Companions.
