Oilbrushers – Oil Paints for Easy Weathering
Oilbrushers are modelling oil paints supplied in practical 10 ml bottles with an integrated brush applicator. Apply the paint directly to the model without the need for a palette or complicated preparation, while the longer working time of oil paints gives you plenty of time to blend, soften or adjust the effect.
Use them to create shadows, colour transitions, dust, earth, dirt, grime, streaking effects and patina, as well as to highlight metallic parts. Individual shades can be used on their own or combined depending on the surface and the effect you want to achieve.
Shades such as Dust, Earth, Dusty Earth, Dark Mud or Soil are ideal for creating dusty surfaces, earth, mud and operational grime on vehicles, terrain and other models.
Black, brown, green, blue and other coloured shades are ideal for shading, surface toning, subtle transitions and a wide range of other weathering effects.
Gold, Silver, Aluminium, Steel or Gun Metal are ideal for metallic details, edges, mechanical parts and creating the appearance of worn metal.
Start with the effect you want to create. For dust and general weathering, choose one of the earthy shades; for deeper shadows, use dark brown or black; and for worn metallic areas, choose one of the metallic shades. Apply only a small amount of paint – oil paint remains workable for longer, allowing you to gradually blend, soften and adjust the effect.
