Brushes for base colours, details and advanced techniques
The right brush makes painting Warhammer miniatures, plastic models, terrain and dioramas easier. Here you will find a range of sizes and shapes for basecoating, fine details, shading, Contrast paints, drybrushing and other modelling techniques.
When choosing a brush, do not focus on size alone. A high-quality tip is essential for precise work, while a larger brush with greater paint capacity is better suited to broader areas, washes and more fluid paints.
Medium to larger brushes for armour, cloth, skin, larger areas, washes and more fluid paints.
Fine brushes with a precise tip for eyes, symbols, small details, line work and edge highlighting.
Firmer brushes for drybrushing, textures, stone, fur, terrain, pigments and heavier modelling work.
For your first miniatures, 3–4 brushes are usually enough: one medium brush for base colours, a smaller brush for details, one brush for Shade or Contrast paints, and a firmer brush for drybrushing. You can add more specialised shapes later depending on the techniques you use most often.
