General Series – Acrylic Paints, Inks, Metallic Colors and Mediums
AK Interactive General Series is a comprehensive system of paints and mediums for painting miniatures, models, vehicles, figures and dioramas. At its core is a wide range of 3Gen acrylic paints, complemented by metallic colors, inks and mediums for adjusting the properties of your paints.
Classic acrylic paints can be used for basecoating, shading, highlighting and even the finest details. Depending on how they are prepared, they can be applied with either a brush or an airbrush. With a wide selection of colors, you can build a palette for fantasy and sci-fi miniatures, historical models, military vehicles and many other modelling projects.

The main part of the General Series consists of a wide range of acrylic colors for traditional painting. Use them for basecoats, shadows, highlights and details, and combine several related shades to create natural depth.
General Series paints can be used for traditional brush painting as well as airbrushing. For brush application, adjust the consistency according to the desired coverage. For airbrushing, thin the paint appropriately and apply it in several light layers.
Metallic colors are designed for weapons, armor, machinery, structures and other metallic parts of a model. Combining a darker metallic shade with a lighter highlight makes it easy to add greater depth and definition to the surface.
Inks are ideal for transparent tinting, deepening shadows, increasing color saturation and creating special color effects. Their transparency allows you to alter the tone of the underlying surface without completely covering previous layers.
Glaze Medium, Matte Medium, Gloss Medium, Retarder and other auxiliary products allow you to adjust the consistency, transparency, drying time or final finish of the paint. They are useful for glazing, blending and other advanced painting techniques.
For each area of the model, choose a darker shade for shadows, a mid-tone as the main color and a lighter shade for highlights. You do not need to start with a large collection – a few carefully selected colors can cover an entire color scheme.
If you are looking for classic paints for brush painting, start with Acrylic and choose several shades based on your model's color scheme. For each important color, it is useful to have a darker tone for shadows, a main color and a lighter shade for highlights. Use Metallic for metal parts and Ink wherever you want to transparently increase saturation or deepen shadows. Mediums are not essential when starting out, but later they will allow you to better control transparency, drying time, gloss and other paint properties. For airbrushing, always adjust the paint to the appropriate consistency and build up coverage with several thin coats.
