Inks – Intense Colours for Tinting, Shading and Airbrushing
AK Interactive Inks are highly intense colours designed for tinting, shading, increasing colour saturation and creating striking colour effects on miniatures and models. Thanks to their strong pigmentation, only a small amount is needed to alter the final shade or add greater depth and intensity to an already painted surface.
You can use Inks on their own, mix them with acrylic paints to intensify a shade, or apply them directly with an airbrush. The range includes vivid primary colours, deep shades for shadows, as well as earthy and neutral tones, making them suitable for painting fantasy and sci-fi miniatures, figures, vehicles and many other modelling projects.

Primary Yellow, Fire Orange, Blood Scarlet and Pure Magenta are ideal whenever you need a bold and vivid colour. They are perfect for fantasy and sci-fi models, energy and magical effects, striking fabrics or other colour-dominant areas of miniatures.
Deep Blue, Ocean Blue, Camo Green, Nature Green and Night Purple allow you to create rich cool tones, colourful shadows and smooth tinting effects. Use them on armour, fabrics, monster skin, energy effects or alien surfaces.
Wood Brown, Intense Sienna and Brown Black are ideal for wood, leather, earthy surfaces and natural shading. Darker shades can also be used to increase contrast in recessed areas and create deeper coloured shadows.
Ink can be applied over an existing base colour to gradually change its shade or saturation. With thin layers, you can smooth transitions, add a coloured tint or enhance a particular area of the model without having to repaint it completely.
You can add a small amount of Ink to acrylic paint to increase its colour intensity or adjust the final shade. Add Ink gradually – its high saturation means that even a small amount can significantly alter the mixture.
AK Interactive Inks can be applied directly with an airbrush without the need for additional thinning. With light passes, you can gradually build up intensity, create colour transitions, tint a base colour or produce striking lighting and energy effects.
Because Inks are highly intense, it is best to work with smaller amounts and build up the colour gradually. For tinting, apply several thin layers rather than one heavy coat and allow each application to dry before adding the next layer. When mixing with acrylic paint, add Ink in small amounts. If you are using an airbrush, you can apply the colour directly and control the intensity by building it up with multiple light passes. To get started, choose shades according to your model's colour scheme – a vivid Ink for the main colour, a darker related shade for shadows, and optionally an earthy or neutral tone for other materials.
