Xtreme Metal – High-Gloss Metallic Paints for Airbrush

AK Interactive Xtreme Metal paints are high-quality lacquer-based metallic paints developed specifically for airbrush application. Their extremely fine metallic micropigments create a smooth, uniform and realistically metallic surface with a high-gloss finish, making them ideal for aircraft, vehicles, sci-fi models, mechanical parts and other projects featuring prominent metallic surfaces.

The wide range of colours makes it possible to recreate different types of aluminium, steel, titanium, copper, bronze, brass and heat-affected metals. The paints offer excellent coverage, good adhesion and are ready for airbrush application. Individual shades can be combined to create realistic variations between panels, structural components and different types of metallic materials.

Aluminium – Different Types of Aluminium

Aluminium, White Aluminium, Dark Aluminium, Matte Aluminium, Polished Aluminium and Duraluminium allow you to create a variety of aluminium finishes. The differences between these shades are ideal for aircraft panels, structures, vehicles and other models featuring larger metallic surfaces.

Steel, Stainless Steel and Gun Metal

Steel, Stainless Steel and Gun Metal are ideal for steel structures, weapons, engines, mechanical parts and other darker metallic surfaces. Titanium expands the range with the characteristic appearance of a more modern technical metal.

Gold, Brass, Bronze and Copper

Gold, Brass, Pale Brass, Bronze and Copper are suitable for warmer metals, decorative elements, historical details, pipes, fantasy and sci-fi models. Combining several shades can create greater depth and a more natural-looking metallic surface.

Burnt Metal and Jet Exhaust

Burnt Metal, Pale Burnt Metal and Jet Exhaust are designed to recreate heat-affected and operationally discoloured metals. They are ideal for exhausts, nozzles, engines, pipes and other components where you want to create a visible difference between clean metal and surfaces affected by high temperatures.

Chrome and Highly Polished Surfaces

Chrome and other bright shades are ideal wherever you need a very bright and striking metallic appearance. With highly polished metallic paints, a smooth base is particularly important, as the final finish can easily highlight even small imperfections on the model's surface.

Metallic Blue, Purple and Smoke

Metallic Blue, Metallic Purple and Smoke Metallic expand the range beyond traditional metallic shades. They are ideal for sci-fi models, futuristic armour, energy effects, nozzles or subtle colour variations between individual metallic components.

How to Achieve the Best Results with Xtreme Metal?

Before airbrushing, prepare the surface so that it is as smooth and clean as possible – especially with highly polished shades, as the quality of the base will have a significant effect on the final metallic finish. Xtreme Metal paints are ready for airbrush application, so start with several light, controlled coats rather than applying one excessively heavy layer. For greater depth, individual panels or sections of the model can be sprayed with different shades of aluminium, steel or other metals. According to the manufacturer, the paints offer such strong adhesion that a primer is not essential; however, a suitably chosen smooth base can still help with surface preparation and influence the final appearance of the metallic layer.
