Terrains
Terrains – Terrain, Bases and Dioramas
AK Interactive Terrains offers materials and effects for creating realistic bases, gaming terrain and dioramas. Using ready-made textures, flocks, gravel, water effects, snow and other products, you can create environments ranging from arid deserts and muddy battlefields to forests, snowy landscapes and fantasy worlds.
The individual products can be used on their own or combined in several layers. Create the foundation of your terrain using soil or a texture product, add grass, moss or gravel, and finish it with water, snow, dust, cracked earth or other effects that give the scene depth and character.

Desert Soil, Wargame Wet Ground, Volcanic Earth and other textures can be used as the foundation for a base or diorama. They make it easy to create uneven surfaces, soil, mud, deserts and striking fantasy environments without the need to mix your own complex blends.
Grass Flock in spring, summer, autumn and dry shades adds realistic vegetation to your bases. Moss Texture is ideal for forest floors, rocks, ruins and other areas where you want to create an overgrown or permanently damp appearance.
Water Gel, Puddles and Water Foam allow you to create water surfaces, standing water, swamps and foam. Choose from transparent and coloured variants depending on whether you are creating clear water, an ocean, a swamp or a dirty puddle.
Snow Sprinkles, Ice Sparkles and other winter effects are ideal for snowy bases, frozen worlds, vehicles and buildings. By combining different textures, you can create fresh snow, frozen surfaces and detailed winter landscapes.
Dark & Dry Crackle, Light & Dry Crackle and Wet Crackle create distinctive cracked surfaces. Corrosion Texture and other effects can then be used for rusty structures, ruins, industrial environments and heavily weathered parts of your scene.
Railroad Ballast and Small Railroad Ballast are suitable for roads, railway tracks, rubble and rocky surfaces. Foam Texturizer & Sealer helps when working with foam foundations, while Resin Water allows you to create deeper water features in larger scenes.
First, decide what kind of environment you want your model to be set in. For a simple base, start with a single soil or texture product and, once dry, add a contrasting detail such as grass, moss, snow or a small puddle. For a larger diorama, work in layers – first shape the terrain, then create the basic surface, and only afterwards add vegetation, water, snow and other fine effects. Combining several different textures and shades usually creates a more natural result than using the same material across the entire surface.
