Space Marines: the elite strike force of Operation Imperator
The Space Marines portion of the box represents a compact but highly varied Adeptus Astartes force. It includes commanding characters, psychic support, a fast-moving battle preacher with a jump pack, a standard bearer, classic infantry, a jump pack assault unit, heavy fire support in Gravis armour and the iconic return of the Land Speeder.
For a beginner, this half is excellent because it demonstrates several fundamental Space Marine playstyles at once: holding objectives, shooting, close combat, rapid movement, character support and a mobile vehicle. Orks: the green horde that makes Armageddon truly Armageddon
The Ork half of the box is larger, louder and packed with character. It includes bosses, a shaman, a deranged doctor, Boyz, Grots, fast machinery and the new Big Mek Dakkarig. This is exactly the type of content that can excite a beginner: there are plenty of models on the table, every unit looks different and the army immediately develops its own story.
