Scenic Mats
Scenic Mats – ready-made vegetation for quick landscape creation
Scenic Mats are ready-made 245 × 245 mm vegetation mats designed for quickly creating realistic natural surfaces. Instead of gradually applying individual grass fibres, you get a ready-to-use vegetation surface that can be shaped to fit a miniature base, diorama or gaming terrain.
The mats are ideal for creating meadows, fields, wild grass, forest edges and other overgrown areas. You can use them as the main vegetation base and then add static grass, individual tufts, moss, bushes, leaves or laser-cut plants. By layering additional materials, you can easily create more natural transitions and a more varied landscape.

The Scenic Mats format allows you to cover a larger section of a diorama or gaming terrain while also giving you the option to divide the mat into several smaller pieces. A single mat can therefore be used for multiple miniature bases or different sections of a larger scene.
Scenic Mats are a practical base for meadows, roadsides, rural landscapes and other larger grassy surfaces. The ready-made vegetation helps create a varied texture much faster than gradually applying static grass across the entire area.
You do not have to use the entire mat in one piece. By dividing it into smaller, irregular sections, you can create patches of vegetation, overgrown roadsides or transitions between grass, soil, rocks and other surface types.
You can cut small sections from the mat to match the size of a miniature base or a specific area of a diorama. It is a quick way to create rich vegetation without having to build up every grass element individually.
For larger projects, a Scenic Mat can form the foundation of extensive vegetation around buildings, ruins, roads, rocks or trees. Individual sections of the mat can be arranged irregularly and blended together using additional terrain materials.
Treat the ready-made mat as a base rather than the final step. Adding taller tufts, static grass, moss, bushes, leaves and individual plants helps break up the uniformity of the surface and creates more noticeable differences in vegetation height and density.
First, prepare the basic terrain and decide which areas should remain visible as soil, paths, rocks or other surfaces. Then shape the Scenic Mat as needed – irregular edges usually look more natural than perfectly straight cuts in natural scenes. Glue the individual sections onto the prepared surface and blend their edges into the surrounding terrain using soil, static grass and individual tufts. Finally, add taller vegetation, moss, bushes, leaves or Laser Cut Plants. By creating gradual transitions, the mat will not look like a separate piece placed on top of the terrain, but rather like a natural part of the entire landscape.
