Scenic Bases – a Ready-Made Foundation for Striking Miniatures
Scenic bases already feature sculpted relief, texture or decorative surfaces, so you do not have to build the entire scene from scratch. They are ideal for quickly creating a detailed and impressive look for miniatures, heroes and entire units.
Depending on the design, they can represent rocks, ruins, paving, industrial environments, rubble, fantasy landscapes and many other types of terrain. Simply paint them and, if desired, add vegetation, pigments or other small details.
The relief and details are already part of the base, so you do not need to create the entire surface from individual basing materials.
Choose a base to match your miniature's environment – such as rocks, ruins, urban surfaces, rubble or fantasy landscapes.
A striking base can highlight an important character, while using the same theme can also create a consistent look across an entire unit or army.
Instead of building the surface from scratch, you can focus primarily on painting, highlighting details and adding finishing effects.

First, check the correct size and shape for your miniature. Then choose a theme that matches the environment of your army or the story of the model. For a consistent appearance across multiple miniatures, use similar surfaces and a matching colour palette. There is no need to overload the sculpted relief with extra details – good painting, a wash, drybrushing and a few carefully placed finishing touches are often all you need.
