Crystal Colors – transparent AMMO acrylic paints for glass, lights and optical effects
AMMO Crystal Colors are transparent acrylic paints designed to create translucent, glass-like and lighting effects on models. They are particularly suitable for clear parts, lights, periscopes, optics, coloured glass and other details where you want to preserve the transparency of the underlying surface while adding a strong colour tint.
The range includes red, green, blue, orange, smoke and other specialised shades. The paints can be layered to achieve the desired intensity and can be used with both a brush and an airbrush. Thanks to their transparent nature, fine details and reflections from the underlying surface remain visible.
Transparent shades are suitable for headlights, position lights, lenses, sensors, periscopes and other coloured optical details on a model.
Crystal Colors allow you to tint transparent plastic without completely covering the underlying surface, helping the part retain the appearance of glass or coloured translucent material.
You can build up the intensity of the shade with several thin layers. This gives you greater control over the final saturation and transparency of the effect.
Coloured variants can be used for rear lights, position lights, sci-fi effects, energy elements, lenses and other distinctive details.
Darker transparent shades are suitable for smoked glass, tinted transparent parts and optics where you want to create a deeper or more subdued effect.
The range also includes products intended to imitate a glass-like appearance and specific modelling details such as periscopes or position lights.
Start with a very thin layer and allow it to dry before applying the next one. Each additional layer increases the intensity of the shade while still allowing the underlying surface to remain translucent. On clear parts, it is therefore better to apply several thin layers rather than too much paint at once.
