Dry Earth Ground High-density acrylic terrain paste with an authentic gritty texture designed for replicating dry earth and parched soil on dioramas or miniature bases. It holds its shape perfectly, dries to a completely matte finish, and resists cracking even in thick layers..

Why choose it? Saves you the hassle of mixing plaster with loose sand and pigments, resists cracking even when applied in thick layers, and provides a perfectly textured, realistic canvas for further weathering..

Combination: Light dust weathering pigments, dark acrylic or enamel washes for deep soil stitchening, small landscape rocks, and patches of parched static grass..

Tip: Apply the paste directly using an old flat brush, a palette knife, or a hobby spatula. To achieve a perfectly natural, irregular look, lightly stipple the wet surface with a stiff-bristled brush to break up any smooth tool marks. If you want to add wheel or track ruts, let the paste set for about 15 to 20 minutes until it becomes slightly tacky, then gently press your model or loose tires into it. Once completely dry, blend it into your scenery by running a darker wash into the recesses to simulate damp soil pockets and dry-brush the raised areas with a light pigment..

Dry Earth Ground

About the product

This texturing paste offers a reliable, ready-to-use foundation for any earth landscape on your models. Its specific color tone perfectly captures the look of sun-baked, moistureless topsoil common in both European summer landscapes and arid desert environments. The paste features an optimal creamy consistency that spreads smoothly without running, ensuring you can sculpt crisp ridges, ditch lines, or realistic track indentations without losing definition. It delivers absolute opaque coverage in a single coat. Once fully cured, it forms a durable, hard-wearing crust that easily accepts subsequent oil- or enamel-based weathering products without lifting or dissolving.

Features

  • Autentic macro-texture of fine sand and soil integrated directly into a flexible, durable acrylic binder
  • Volume-stable formula ensures the paste will not shrink, sag, or develop unsightly cracks during the drying process
  • Fully compatible with all types of model pigments, washes, and fluid effects for advanced multi-layered weathering
