Dry
Citadel Dry paints for quickly highlighting edges, textures and details
Citadel Dry paints are acrylic paints with a thicker consistency, designed specifically for the drybrushing technique. After most of the paint has been removed from the brush, a small amount of pigment remains and catches mainly on raised edges and textured areas as the brush is lightly passed over the model.
Drybrushing is a quick way to highlight armour, fur, stone, wood, metal, terrain, bases and other strongly textured surfaces. The Citadel Dry range includes both standard and metallic shades and can be easily combined with Base, Shade and other paints from the Citadel Colour system.

Drybrushing catches mainly on the raised areas of a model. In one quick step, you can highlight edges, relief details, fur, chainmail, stone surfaces and other pronounced textures.
Citadel Dry paints have a thicker consistency than standard Base or Layer paints. This makes it easier to leave only a small amount of pigment on the brush, which is ideal for the drybrushing technique.
The technique works extremely well not only on miniatures, but also on rocks, ruins, buildings, gaming terrain and textured bases, where it can bring out surface detail very quickly.
Load a small amount of paint onto a dry brush and wipe most of it off on a paper towel or another suitable surface. When it looks as though almost no paint remains on the brush, lightly pass it over the raised areas of the model. It is better to repeat the process several times with a small amount of pigment than to apply too much in a single pass.
