U-RUST – Realistic Rust, Oxidation and Corrosion
U-RUST is a specialised system for creating realistic rust, oxidation and corrosion effects on models. It allows you to create everything from subtle ageing of metal to heavily corroded surfaces with colour variations, dark oxides and the texture of deep rust.
The individual products can be used separately or combined to gradually build up the depth of corrosion. U-RUST is ideal for military vehicles, ships, wrecks, industrial objects, sci-fi and fantasy models, metal structures and dioramas.
Powdered Oxide and Deep Oxide are ideal for creating more pronounced rust and surfaces that should look not only aged in colour, but genuinely heavily corroded.
Black Oxide and Black Oxide Transparent create dark oxidation and patina effects. The transparent version allows for more subtle tinting and gradual build-up of intensity without completely covering the underlying surface.
Rust Oxide Patina is ideal for creating typical rusty colouration and oxidation on metal surfaces. By combining it with darker and lighter effects, you can achieve more natural-looking depth and variation in the corrosion.
Copper Blue Patina creates the characteristic blue-green tones of ageing copper and bronze. It is ideal for statues, pipes, roofs, decorative metal parts, fantasy models and dioramas.
Oxide Grime is ideal for rusty dirt, deposits and enhancing details. It helps blend corrosion effects into the surrounding surface and adds further depth to aged metal.

The most realistic corrosion effects are usually not created with a single shade. Start with a base oxide or rust tone and apply additional effects irregularly only to selected areas. Combine darker deep corrosion, rusty shades and subtler patina effects while allowing parts of the original surface to remain visible.
